Chris Mattheisen born in the US, graduated in economics at the Indiana University, Bloomington and at Columbia University. He has been serving as the chairman and chief executive of Hungary’s biggest telecom services company Magyar Telekom since 2006. Since his operation in these roles, Magyar Telekom won a string of professional awards such as Business Ethics Award, Best Employer in Hungary and in Central and Eastern Europe, and an international Innovation Award.
He came to Hungary in 1990 where he started a consulting company for business analysis and strategic planning and later became the founding marketing and sales director of T-Mobile Hungary.
Then he was involved in the launching of several Hungarian, Polish and Czech mobile operators for U.S. West International, followed by two years when he was in charge of marketing and sales at MediaOne, based in London.
